How to become a member:
Every two years (typically odd years), committee members are ELECTED during the Democratic primary by Democratic voters in the electoral district being represented. However, members can be appointed by the chair of the committee if there is a vacancy between elections. If you would like to be on the committee, please contact the chair of the committee, or email poughkeepsiedemocrats@gmail.com. We can tell you where there are vacancies that you can run to fill. You will need to collect signatures from people the Electoral District (ED). The amount of signatures you need depends on the number of registered Democrats in the ED. If more than 2 people run for the 2 seats, registered Democrats in that ED will have to vote during the Democratic primary. We try to avoid these types of contests, so please let us know your intentions so that we can figure out how to make it work!
